Hi Lori,

Took my knowledge from Coupon College to the Oceana Commissary last Saturday. My husband was totally onboard and the result was a $30.00 saving from coupons which included a FREE MILK and 54 cents a piece for Suave Shampoo and/or Conditioners. Thank you Lori for sharing what you know.

I am unable to locate the Dove coupon on coupons.com. What zipcode did you use?

I recently went to food lion and they had a massive sale!! alot of BOGO deals and they also had a buy 2 get 3 free deal, I took advantage of that deal. I bought $60 worth of groceries and only spent $30, my receipt said I saved $28.65!! I was so excited and I just wanted to share that.

Just wanted to let you know that I’d done my first ‘coupon shop’ and saved just under $30! I did forget to use some coupons – duh – but remembered what you said about not crying over coupons and I will use them next time! I discovered Kroger for the first time since living here (I normally only use the Commissary) and its great for a lactose intolerant vegetarian like me!!!

What is a catalina?

Reply

The Coupon Consultant May 12, 2011 at 7:47 am

A CAT (catalina) is another form of a coupon or cents/dollars off ONYO (on your next order) that spits out of a separate machine at the register on register tape!

I’m registered at Upromise but do not know how to get the coupons (the ones that are posted in the coupon database). Any information is much appreciated!
Blessings!

I went to Farm Fresh today and several of the coupons I printed from the internet would not scan. Normally they just enter the coupon code manually but today this cashier wouldn’t. She said she was told if an internet coupon doesn’t scan then it’s probably been xeroxed and not to accept it. Very frustrating. Any idea why some coupons scan and others won’t? I’ve never xeroxed any coupons and they’re all being printed from the same printer. Thanks for your insight!

Another thing that could be happening is print quality. I have one printer that prints horribly, and the other one does really well. I know you’re printing from the same printer, but could the quality be deteriorating? Just a thought.

Wow, just did my first coupon savings tonite. I got 5 boxes of cheerios for $1.75 and doubled my $1 off coupon for $2. Much to my surprise, I got 2 catalinas. One was for $2 off any general mills cereals AND another cat for 1 gallon of free milk, up to $4.50, compliments of GM. I then went to another Farm Fresh, used those cats and got the same cats again. Bottom line: $1.75 for 5 boxes – $2 cat = $6.75. THEN I get a gallon of free milk (about $4) brings my total to about $2.75 for 5 boxes of cheerios. Not bad!!! I think I’m gonna like this couponing!

I just saw a similar entry above re FF–this occured at Wlmt. My printer quality if ok—I had probably 12+ internet coupons that scanned without any problems. I have emailed KC Masterpiece since one of the coupons was theirs and came from coupons.com site.

What an interesting trip to the Walmart on Battlefield today! Things were going fine until I had 5 internet coupons that would not scan…all legible. One for two pineapples, three for Scotch brand tape (not the newest ones–I had used several of these at Target in the past and they expire today) and one for KC Masterpiece sauce….I calmly gave all those items back to the cashier for a credit and went to Customer Service. I talked to a nice asst manager who says that IF they get a “beep”, they won’t accept the coupon. Won’t even try to type the numbers in, etc. He called someone to make sure that was their current policy. He also went and got one of the items and tried to get the coupon to scan. It IS in the policy so I didn’t “have a leg to stand on”. Up until now the cashiers did an override, etc. My concern is that each of the coupons appear legit and have the company website (ex-www.kcmasterpiece.com) on them. They were printed either thru FB links from coupon sites or off of one of the legit coupon sites. How do you avoid this happening??? Are they fraudulent? I felt like a crook and I was completely innocent!

Lori,

I live in Virginia Beach and was receiving the Red Plum coupons in the mail every Tuesday. The past couple of weeks, I have not received them? They don’t come in the paper either. I only get the Smart Source coupons on Sunday. I tried going online at redplum.com but felt like there wasn’t many coupons there? Do you know where I can get the redplum coupon paper??

Thanks,

Lynda

I’m trying to figure out how everyone is saving so much money on cereal. Currently I have a few coupons for GM cereals:
like Save$1 on 2 boxes and $1 on 3 boxes
How can I use this to my advantage??
Thanks!

I work at Farm Fresh and I just want to say that your website is awesome! I am a couponer myself – so I am snatching up ads as soon as they are sent down through email and comparing them to my coupons BUT your website does all the work for me – when the ad actually comes out. It’s very helpful to see what I’ve missed (because there is always something) AND – its helpful to see what I need my guys to order (I bring in all the trucks for chips and drinks and whatnot). Your website is amazing, thank you so much!
