You can contact me HERE

I’m Lori, and I’m The Coupon Consultant.  My mama raised me on a four-letter word….S.A.L.E.  I love to buy things for a bargain or get them for free, and I love sharing those money saving tips with you! On this site, you will find weekly match-ups for stores, deals on the web, freebies for you and your family, and giveaways!  Also, if you would like to learn the details of cutting your budget by at least 50%, be sure to check out the information on coupon classes.

I’ve been married to my best friend, Craig, for almost 14 years.  He’s a Minister of Missions, and has an incredible heart to see the nations come to know Jesus!  We have a crazy crew that we call The Clayton Circus.  I homeschool these three incredible children, and we love it.  You’ll see that I have a homeschool page on this site.  I have posted there the curriculum we are using and some other fun resources.  The Circus  loves anything having to do with music, animals, Legos, dress-up, and tons of board games.  My oldest, The Artist, loves to create with any medium.  My middle child, The Jedi, is all about Legos, Starwars, and video games.  My youngest, The Princess, is the quintessential princess.  She loves dollies, dress up, and any thing girly!

And most importantly, I am a Christ-follower.  I’ve walked some rough roads…my mom’s death, the attempted kidnapping of my children while serving as missionaries in Mexico, having a hysterectomy at age 30 (when I wasn’t done having babies), and that’s just the beginning.  The strength I’ve found in my relationship with the Lord has allowed me to walk through each of these times with peace.  They were still hard, but I had peace in knowing that God was and is in control.  If you are searching for peace, ask me.  I would love to share with you how you can have the peace that surpasses all understanding.

I’m available to teach coupon classes, but one of my favorite things to do is to share God’s word with women.  On the journey of getting control of my finances, the Lord has gotten my attention about my time, my health, my mind, my everything.  I love to share these stories with women and how God is working it out in me.  Contact me below for more info.

Hello! I was given a link to your website by a friend. I waste SO much money at the grocery store and NEVER use a coupon! I would love to take one of your classes to learn how to save money. I just got married and we are planning on having a baby soon so I would love to be able to put money towards the money towards paying down the loan as I save at the grocery store. When are you going to have a class next? Thanks for the reply!

Sharon,
That’s a GREAT coupon! Thanks! Not sure if it will be on sale (it rarely is), but it could be an unadvertised sale!!! Unfortunately, they don’t have it listed in their online shopping feature, so I can’t even figure out the price in the store. Surely they have it. Thanks for your encouragement! It means so much!

One more question. This week at Rite Aid, the chex Mix is buy 2 for $3.00 with a dollar up reward. Do you get 2 dollar up rewards because you buy 2 or just one.

Reply

The Coupon Consultant February 5, 2011 at 2:31 pm

It depends on how the ad states it. If it’s “Buy 2, get 1 up reward” then you’ll only get one.

Hi Lori, I was wondering if you have any good strategies for saving on meats at the grocery store? I find that is where my family spends the most in our grocery bill. Thanks so much for your help!

Reply

The Coupon Consultant April 6, 2011 at 1:50 pm

Hi Andrea, this is Karen (I work for Lori) and I will tell you what I do…when meat is a really, really good price, i stock up. Like boneless, skinless chicken breast, I buy 8 to 10 packs andthis week 93% lean hamburger was on sale. Today at FF I used the $1 off beef when you buy Classico, so I bought a $4 pack which cost $2 today! I also look for rebates in the beer section. Alchol is not a required purchase. Twice I have done spend something like $11 and get back $6 on seafood. Hope this helps!

Ohhh Please come to Richmond VA and help us here! My cousin lives in Chesapeake Va and they have had great success there, but none of the stores here ( except Food Lion) are the same! Our paper has no incentives for couponers and is very expensive for the amount of coupons you can find ;-(
Here is a challenge for you- we have food allergies in our family so we are very restricted in type and brand we can purchase- can you help us?
Thanks or what you do!
Deb

The Coupon Consultant April 13, 2011 at 7:39 am

I am trying to work on a date in Richmond. There are ways to save on foods for people with allergies. Here are the top things:
1. Contact the manufacturers and ask them if they have coupons they can send you.
2. Look online for coupons to print.
3. Look on ebay for coupons for certain products that might be available to order. Coupons are regional, so there maybe some that come out it other places in the US.
4. Use coupons to the maximum potential in every other area possible. SAVE TONS on cleaning, health and beauty products and food items that don’t affect the allergies. Then the high price tag for the special foods won’t be as much of a hit on the budget.

I hope these tips will help until you can take a class!!!

Hey Lori, I’m an avid follower and show watcher! Thanks for all you do for us everyday! My stockpile is great, but the recent tornados in the Colerain and Bertie County area really hit home as my parents live there and almost got leveled to the ground. Seeing that kind of devestation was so sad for an extremely poor area, so my stockpile is no more, I gave almost EVERYTHING to the victims! That felt so good, but I’m planning another trip to drop off more donations around the first or second week of May. I was wondering if you or any other followers would like to donate some of your stockpiles as well. Anyone interested can email me and together we can make many more people smile in such a hard hit area! THANKS so much for your time!

Hi Lori,

I was in your class at teh Chesapeake library a couple of weekends ago. I have my new binder (3 inches that I bought at Office Max and it zips up so nothing can fall out)

I want to start putting together my binder. Is there any one way that is better than another to organize this thing? Should I do by manufacturer, by certain products that I use or perhaps you have a list of basic tabs for these and then I can throw in my own individual preferences?

Maybe this is on your website?

Thanks much for all of your hardwork. I want to get this organized and start saving money.

Lori!
So I took all the wonderful tools you taught us in our class and went to Farm Fresh for the first time today. I must admit at first I felt a little weird with the notion of taking my coupon binder into the store with me… what would people say… what would they think… I threw caution to the wind, prayed to God, marched in with my green binder of savings, took a deep breath and went for it! With my list from you in hand I proudly marched up my first aisle and guess what… there were 3 ladies down the same aisle with binders! I was so excited that they probably thought I was a nut…. I called my co-worker, who also has started couponing, and said, “There are binders everywhere, I mean everywhere… we are not alone!”
So I took my coupons and your list and found all my items… The moment of truth… THE REGISTER! I looked at both lanes that were open and studied the cashiers’ expressions as they were scanning other customers’ items…. all the while tips you had shared with us running through my mind….. Cashiers who were nice, who were not so nice, etc… The first cashier’s facial expression was not so nice but there in lane 1 a sweet cashier who was talking to the customers and scanning coupons! JackPot!!!
When I rolled my cart I have no clue why… but I got Nervous…what!! I placed all the items on the belt and as the cashier scanned each item I looked at the total… when it came to $35.57 I almost fainted….. okay breathe… here comes the coupons… as each coupon scanned lowered my bill then the A$5.00 instant coupon for purchasing 10 items came off, I started to get so excited! The cashier asked if I was a coupon newbie and I kept saying “yes I am new to this”, “this is so great” etc. Final bill came to $13.46. Not sure if that is a great deal for all those Coupon Experts out there but for me it was AMAZING, I had FUN and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes!!!
My husband called as I was putting my loot in my trunk and I was so excited I was talking a mile a minute… he started laughing and then when I told him how much I saved he replied that we are getting 2 more subscriptions to the Daily Press…. HA!! This was a long story I know but I want to thank you so much for sharing your tips, tools and helping this newbie get started on this fun journey that will help our household.

Hi, I took your class a couple of weeks ago and I want to share what happen to me yesterday in the Farm Fresh store at Berkley, Norfolk. I print my two coupons of the items that I was going to buy. Once I get to the register to check out, the cashier called her manager, he didn’t show up but they took my coupons and after 20 or 25 minutes she came back saying that my coupons were invalid because I make copies of them when I just finish printing them. Honestly I was ready to scream but you know what I told her thank you for her help but I will take my money and my coupons to another place. The manager wrote invalid in every one of my coupons, I felt so insulted…I came home and send an e-mail to their corporate office, those people need training but I have a bad taste in my mouth. So far the Walgreens experience is the best, the Granby Store staff is awsome and going on tuesday I get an extra 15% military discount. Have a good day.

Hi Lori: Thanks for your wonderful class on July 30th at the Indian River Library. I just wanted to let you know that I tried the http://www.pssst.generalmills.com website and what I was expecting didn’t come up. I went searched for the General Mills website from one of my cereal boxed and received other information that came up for Pillsbury, GM, Betty Crocker and was happy with that (www.GeneralMills.com). Also I’ve been very happy with the Allyou.com website especially with the free sample of the day, I’ve actually received a free quart of paint from Glidden paint shipped to me via UPS. With the free samples I get the coupons as well and it takes anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks to receive them. Also please include any little cards with your website in your classes if you can, I’ll have to admit I blanked on your website when I was talking to a cashier from Wal-mart yesterday and she was interested in your classes, I told her to look in the VA pilot website but I really couldn’t remember your website address. Hopefully I’ll run into her again so I can give it to her. Again thanks for the class!

I am a relatively new coupon combiner, and have a question about my trip to the store yesterday.
I went to Farm Fresh with a store-provided manufacturer’s coupon. I tried to piggy-back but it wasn’t allowed, yet the coupon read “Redeemable at Farm Fresh”. I was told it was not a store coupon. If I could only redeem it there, why couldn’t I also use the other coupon as well?

You asked us to give you feedback on our first trip out after the classes. Well my husband and I we went to class Saturday in Suffolk. Cut coupons last night for a couple of hours to get caught up on several weeks worth of coupons I hadn’t done yet. Did the match-ups for Farm Fresh and today went to Farm Fresh to do the Double Coupon Special and try my luck. Got $149.58 of merchandise, saved $71.45 or 50.33 percent. We’ll be using your systems for the rest of the time we’re in the area. Hope we can find match-ups for HEB in South Texas when we move back. We’re a retired military family with no commissaries available in our part of the country. This makes shopping at a local supermarket as good or even a better deal than the commissary. Gracias por ayudar a mi familia.

Lori, I purchased the Groupon deal for 6 months of the Sunday and Wednesday paper. I activated it on Nov 14, 2011. With this Groupon certificate I should now be getting 3 papers on Sunday. This is February and despite over a dozen phone calls from my husband and myself, we rarely get three papers on Sunday. Each time we call they extend the Groupon coupon one week which is nice but I want my third paper.

Is there anything you could do to get my third paper delivered every Sunday? I am at a loss of what to do next.

Thanks
