Civil War Living History Day: Friday, March 9, 2012, 9:30 am – 3 pm
Watch and participate as Civil War history comes to life with events focusing on the famed Battle between ironclads USS Monitor and CSS Virginia. Students can interact with soldiers and sailors, tour the award-winning USS Monitor Center, play 19th century games, make period crafts, and participate in interactive vignettes. Registration and pre-payment are required by Friday, March 2.
Titanic Day: Friday, April 13, 2012, 9:30am-3pm
Transport your students to the early 20th century as The Mariners’ Museum brings history to life with activities focusing on the tragic 1912 sinking of Titanic. Students can interact with costumed interpreters, play period games, and make crafts to take home. Students can also participate in interactive programs that will introduce them to the history, technology, and mystery surrounding the R.M.S. Titanic. Registration and pre-payment are required by Friday, April 6.
